Start your day 1 journey by heading towards Malpe beach. Here there is a sea walk for you to experience how it feels like to walk over the sea. From here you can visit St Mary’s Island which will need another 1 hour.
But the time spent on St Mary’s island is going to be worth it. Click here to know more about visiting St Mary’s Island.
There are plenty of water sports available at Malpe beach. Also, there is a floating bridge that is recently built over the waves and is an adventure that you should not miss.
Currently floating bridges can be experienced only at Malpe beach and Beypore beach in Kerala.
Padubidri Blue Flag Beach
Out of the 12 beaches on the entire Indian coastline( including Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands), Padubidri beach is one of the Blue Flag-certified beaches.
What does this mean?
It’s an indication that these beaches have high environmental and quality standards. These are tourist-friendly beaches.
In order for a beach to get a blue flag, it must meet certain criteria. Click here to know more.
Kapu Beach
Kapu beach is so clean and peaceful, that you are never going to forget it. What makes visiting his beach special is going all the way up to the lighthouse to get a spectacular view of the coastline, sunset, and backwaters.
To go up the lighthouse, one must visit Kapu beach during the evening. The lighthouse is open to people only in the evening.
Delta point in Kodi Bengre Beach
An estuary is formed when a river meets the sea. that is what we get to see when the Swarna River and Sita river meet the Arabian Sea. It is easy to reach the delta point on a 2-wheeler. Here the river is calm while on another side the sea waves are strong. People also come to see the sunset in the evening.
Day 2 – Sightseeing and Religious Places in Udupi
Udupi Shri Krishna Temple
According to history, Kanakadasa an ardent devotee of Shri Krishna was denied entry to the temple. Waiting outside the temple he prayed to Krishna with all his devotion. Impressed b his prayers, Lord’s idol turned towards Kanakadasa, and a hole was formed in the wall so ha Kanakadasa can see Lord Krishna.
The hole formed is known as Kanakana ’kindi’ ( A window that belongs to Kanakadasa). A strict dress code is followed inside the temple. It is advisable to dress modestly while visiting the temple.
Kemmannu Hanging Bridge and Kayaking
If you are interested in Kayaking then Kemmannu Water Adventures provide kayaking services. The hanging bridge connects 2 banks of the Swarna river. And has become an important tourist destination for photography and kayaking.
Ananteshwar Temple
A temple that is dedicated to Parashurama the 6th avatar of Lord Vishnu. The specialty of the temple is that Parashurama is worshipped in the form of Linga here. It is Parashurama who gifted this land to the people.
According to history, It is he who had claimed the land from the Arabian Sea. Hence the entire Konkan region is known as Parashurama Kshetra. Hence I also recommend you visit the newly built Parashurama Theme Park inaugurated in January 2023.
Parashurama Theme Park
A tall 33 ft bronze statue of Parashurama with an Axe in one hand and a bow in the other is built over a hill. There is a lot more to explore when you reach the top of the hill. But the view of the statue from the parking space is surely going to amaze you.
This new place is going to be the next major attraction in Coastal Karnataka. Parashurama Theme Park is located over Umikal hill at Bailur.
A laser show, amphitheater, state-of-the-art audio-visual museum, View Point, Murals depicting the Story of Parashurama, and a restaurant are add-ons here. It is best to visit the place in the evening so that you get to see the lighting after the sun sets.
